The HARPERS project -HARmonised PracticEs, Regulations and Standards in waste management and decommissioning – officially concludes after three years of intensive and fruitful collaboration.
The final report of Work Package 6 (WP6) of the HARPERS project is now available.
Based on the outcomes of a first identification of key priority areas, followed by a more in-depth analysis of existing needs and challenges involving Consortium partners and the external stakeholder community, the HARPERS project produced three Summary position papers. These papers outline the integration and broader implementation of cross-border services and/or facilities (WP3), circular economy principles (WP4) and advanced technologies (WP5) in the context of nuclear decommissioning and radioactive waste management. Each paper highlights potential benefits, challenges, and recommendations for implementation across Europe.
Could increased alignment and harmonisation of regulations and best practices improve radioactive waste management and decommissioning?
